Listed below are the Chamber committees.  The Chamber is always looking for members to donate
their time, energy, and experience in a variety of areas, including business and community
development, governmental affairs, organizational improvement and more.  Together, our goal of
moving El Reno forward and enhancing the economic vitality of our community can be realized. 

The wonderful volunteers that serve on these committees help increase the benefits to each of our

Executive Committee

Objective Oversee all committees and provide recommendations to the Board of Directors at large.

    • Prepare annual Chamber budget

Governmental Affairs Committee

Objective To improve our business climate and overall quality of life from a legislative process at federal, state and local levels.  To promote legislation and responsible government at all levels that enhances an environment for economic development and growth for our city.
Membership Criteria Open to any ERCOC member
Committee Goals
  • Prepare Legislative breakfasts schedules and participants
    • At least once a month during legislative session
  • Prepare coffee at the Capital schedule and participants
  • Solicit ideas and recommendations from the membership and present to the ERCOC board on federal, state, local legislative issues that affect the local business environment, and communicate the Chamber's position to appropriate officials and the general public
  • Communicate with Chamber members on legislative issues during the legislative sessions that affect our area.
  • Promote the Oklahoma Prosperity Project to all Chamber members
  • Conduct public forums to discuss pertinent issues on a non-partisan basis
  • Work to increase citizen involvement in El Reno with government at all levels by encouraging participation

Special Events Committee

Objective Be the main fundraising entity of the Chamber via non-dues revenue events

  • Coordinate fundraising events, including but not limited to:
    • Annual Banquet
    • Quarterly Luncheons with hosting opportunities
      • Speakers with topics pertaining to El Reno community and local business
    • Request civic clubs to attend as their club day

Marketing Committee

Objective Develop a marketing plan that enhances the communications and strategics of the ERCOC.  Work to strengthen the awareness of ERCOC activities and enhance membership growth and retention.

Committee Goals
  • Establish a marketing plan for ERCOC, including the following
    • System methodology
    • Media possibilities
    • Review and make recommendations for all communications and marketing materials
      • Brochures
      • New membership packets
      • Letters
      • Event flyer templates
      • Facebook/twitter
    • Present a consistent message and image for all ERCOC communication pieces
  • Update and maintain a website to be utilized in other marketing materials throughout the ERCOC, such as Community Guides, etc.

Leadership Committee

Objective Develop a pool of committed well-informed leaders who will actively participate in the growth of the community by accepting leadership roles in civic, charitable, or governmental organizations through seminars, classes or structured programs.
Membership Criteria Open to any ERCOC member
Committee Goals Develop curriculum and retain keynote speakers for Leadership El Reno.  Encourage community leaders to participate in Leadership El Reno, share knowledge about how the city government, hospitals, school systems, and county government operates and pass down valuable historical information about El Reno. 
Provide networking, educational and community service programs for young professionals.

By-Laws Committee

Objective To establish and maintain an active and accurate set of By-Laws to maintain integrity within the Chamber.
Membership Criteria Open to any ERCOC member
Committee Goals
  • Prepare, review, and propose by-law amendments to the Chamber Board annually in March
  • Ensure by-laws are sent to the membership at least 10 business days prior to Chamber Board voting on updated by-laws annually in April
  • Ensure new by-laws are effective as of July 1 of each year

Objective Strategically recruit new members by comparing existing businesses in the El Reno area with the ERCOC membership.

  • Establish a list of potential members
  • Each member to personally contact at least one business monthly to ask for membership
  • Attend ribbon cuttings for new members
  • Support new members by inviting them to Chamber functions
  • Review membership rates annually and make recommendations to the ERCOC BOD accordingly

Ambassador Committee

Objective Retain existing members and serve as the official goodwill diplomats for ERCOC.

  • Conduct personal calls with existing members and seek their views on how the Chamber can better serve them
    • Recognize designated anniversaries of Chamber membership
  • Work with the Chamber staff to update membership contact information
  • Attend and promote participation in ERCOC functions including:
    • Ribbon cuttings
    • Groundbreakings
    • Membership mixers
  • Support new members by inviting them to ERCOC functions
