New Chamber member, Barbara (Wiewel) Haley, is a Republican candidate for the office of County Clerk of Canadian County. She was raised in El Reno and graduated from El Reno High School. She is married to Rick, and they will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this year. Both of her children, Laura and Dusty, are graduates from El Reno High School, and college graduates from Oklahoma State University. Barbara started her career 30 years ago when she went to work for local attorney, Art Stevener. She worked approximately 5 years for Art and then worked for the Rinehart Law Firm for 15 years. She currently works for the Bass Law Firm in El Reno and has been there for 5 years. She believes her 25 years experience as a legal assistant and particularly in the area of land records, the largest portion of the County Clerk's Office, will serve her well in the upcoming election. She is a "people person" which she believes is vital to the office. "Being able to relate to the public and serve them in a friendly, helpful manner is of upmost importance in this office, especially since the county is growing so rapidly and the Clerk's office stays so busy."
